PET/CT Fellowship at UPMC
Subspecialty: Nuclear Radiology

PET/CT Fellowship at UPMC

The Division of Nuclear Medicine at UPMC is currently accepting applications for a 1 year PET/CT fellowship program with a start date of July 1, 2019. The fellowship will provide highly supervised clinical training in both PET and diagnostic CT interpretation. The fellowship will provide training in neuronuclear medicine. In addition, research opportunities in the use of experimental PET radiopharmaceuticals in novel cancer therapy trials and the role of PET-CT and PET-MR imaging biomarkers for early cancer therapy response assessment are available.

UPMC is a world leader in research and development of both instrumentation (the first PET/CT scanner was invented at UPMC) and radiotracers (over 100 radiolabeled compounds for human and animal use, including Pittsburgh Compound B (PiB)). Animal resources include a pre-clinical PET/CT suite and state-of-the-art radiochemistry laboratory, Inveon small animal PET/CT (Siemens). Human resources include four GE PET/CT scanners (8- and 16-slice; two new 64-slice Discovery VCT), a Siemens HR+ brain PET scanner, and a Siemens mMR Biograph PET/MR system. In addition, a dedicated brain workstation is equipped with advanced SPM and normal database statistical software for analysis of dementia, epilepsy and brain tumor. UPMC is also equipped with advanced PACS system (Philips’ iSite).

Applicants must be eligible for unrestricted PA medical licensure. Completion of a nuclear medicine and/or radiology residency program is a strong consideration, but will consider applicants with comparable training. To apply for this position, please fill out the Fellowship-Clinical Instructor application form available at url http://www.rad.pitt.edu/?education/fellowship-program/fellowship-program-overview.html and email the completed form along with the supporting documents to the PET-CT Fellowship Program Coordinator Tiffany Sparrow at sparrowt@upmc.edu.
