Interventional Radiology Opportunity - La Crosse, WI
Subspecialty: Interventional Radiology

Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI is seeking a fellowship-trained, BC/BE interventional radiologist to join our rapidly growing clinical interventional radiology practice in one of the nation’s largest multi-specialty groups. Experience in direct patient care with outpatient clinic and inpatient rounds is required. Candidates must be interested in practice development including marketing services, developing new service lines, and growing the clinical practice.

Currently, 3 interventional radiologists and 2 associate staff (PA/NP) provide inpatient and outpatient services across the full spectrum of interventional radiology, including interventional oncology (TACE, Y-90, ablation, etc.), PVD, DVT/PE, TIPS/hepatobiliary, GU, dialysis access, central venous access, UFE, trauma, vertebroplasty, IVC filter placement/retrieval, etc. The IR practice also helps provide coverage for a growing endovascular stroke thrombectomy program. If required, the successful candidate will be proctored in the clinical evaluation and procedural skills needed to perform stroke interventions.

Responsibilities include approximately 80% IR with the balance in diagnostic imaging, including general radiology (CT, US, Xray), vascular US, CTA, MRA, and segmental pressure/waveform studies. IR call is 1:3. There is no diagnostic radiology call responsibility. The position is based at a single, 260 bed hospital with level 2 trauma and comprehensive community cancer center designations.

The IR section is highly respected in the organization and participates in a number of interdisciplinary and organization-wide activities, including an IR-led pulmonary embolism response team, a multi-disciplinary vascular institute, multiple tumor boards, the cancer advisory committee, and multiple clinical trials. We place a high value on work-life balance and maintaining a collegial, supportive work environment.

Both experienced IR’s and current fellows are strongly encouraged to apply. We offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package including moving expenses, student loan repayment, and generous retirement plan.

This unique practice opportunity will allow you to enjoy a balanced lifestyle in the exquisite Upper Mississippi River Valley and beautiful bluff country of Southwestern Wisconsin. La Crosse offers a family-friendly environment with excellent public and private schools and abundant recreational opportunities, from water sports, to hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, and more. The region boasts an excellent variety of dining options and a rich cultural scene for lovers of art, music, and theater.
