Division Chief of Nuclear Medicine
No Subspecialty Specified

The UC Davis Department of Radiology is actively recruiting a full-time Academic physician specializing in Nuclear Medicine to fill the role of Nuclear Medicine Division Chief. Appointment can be at the Associate or Full Professor rank of the HSCP, Clin-X or In-Res series, depending on experience. This individual will participate in our clinical, teaching and research programs in PET, Nuclear Medicine and Radiology.

The selected candidate will pay a pivotal role in building clinical and teaching excellence in the Nuclear Medicine diagnostic and therapeutic practice at UC Davis, which includes integration of the revolutionary two-meter long EXPLORER Total Body PET scanner into clinical practice. The successful candidate will also play a key role in our burgeoning research program based around both the EXPLORER and novel radiopharmaceuticals.

Qualified candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O degree. Candidates must have or be board-eligible in Nuclear Medicine and must have or be eligible for licensure in the State of California. Ability and experience in teaching medical students, residents and fellows is essential. Experience and interest in, as well as demonstrated aptitude for clinical and translational research are also required, as is expertise in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine including therapy, single photon imaging, PET/CT and multi-modality imaging. Experience in caring for Nuclear Medicine patients is required. The candidate must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.

Preferred qualifications include: board-eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology (DR) - this is strongly preferred, although exceptional candidates who are not DR board-eligible may be considered; experience in collaborative and multi-disciplinary research; experience with INDs and novel radiopharmaceuticals; willingness to work and experience in other non-nuclear radiology services as well as Nuclear Medicine; and track-record of building multi-disciplinary collaborations.

The University of California, Davis is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer with a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of diversity among its faculty, staff, and students.
