Stable, nine-person group located about an hour from St. Louis is looking for a general/interventional radiologist to work on-site 26 weeks annually of Mon-Fri coverage 8am-5pm for a very competitive daily locums rate plus malpractice and lodging. The group needs someone to do basic IR procedures and general radiology. Expect 50% of your time doing IR (para/thora, lung biopsies, Ultrasound-guided biopsies, venous access, tunnel caths and very occasional renal dialysis) no mammo required. General radiology consists of mainly MR, CT, US, and plain films to keep the department caught up as volume at two of their two largest hospitals is steadily increasing.

They are looking for this to be an ongoing, long-term locums type of position. Daily/weekly rate is negotiable within reason and the group will provide malpractice and lodging. Also willing to consider two weeks on/two weeks off schedule and in this case if the middle weekend of call is desired it pays very well.

No mammo and no requirement to relocate, so if someone lives within 3-7 hours of the southern part of Illinois this could be a good part-time position offering a lot of time off. You're also free to work wherever in your off weeks provided you have separate malpractice coverage. They are looking for a radiologist that would like to be with them long term so this should definitely be considered a permanent position not requiring relocation. However, when/if a partner retires (2-3 years) there will/would be the opportunity for partnership, which would obviously require relocation to their area. Radiologists from northern Illinois to Indy to western KY/TN, northeast Arkansas and most parts of Missouri and Iowa could easily make this drive weekly depending on the ability to be away from home for five days at a time every other week. Ideal start date is this summer but they can wait until later in the year for the right candidate.
