The Department of Radiology in La Crosse, WI is seeking an Interventional Radiologist to join and help grow our practice. The current department is comprised of a highly functioning collegial group of 11 radiologists. This is a unique opportunity offering a diverse array of both vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures with full support for development and innovation from the department and practice administration.

The position includes a mix of interventional and diagnostic radiology responsibilities (30-40% interventional and 60-70% diagnostic). There are two state of the art Siemens biplane suites shared with cardiology and one Siemens single plane radiology suite on site. An outpatient MRI expansion project is underway, which will more than double the size of the current MRI practice.

  • ABR-eligible or ABR-certified Interventional Radiologist with diagnostic imaging skills needed.
  • Proficiency in general radiology also required for general hospital and call coverage.
  • Mammography skills are desirable but not required
  • The position includes diagnostic ER/hospital call shared by all staff radiologists. Call schedule is evenings until 10pm and daytime on weekends.
  • Relatively low-demand off-hours IR call shared with 1-2 other radiologists.
  • Overnight teleradiology support with final reads by Mayo Clinic Radiologists in Rochester.


Mayo Clinic Health System – Franciscan Healthcare, is a multispecialty group/healthcare network employing more than 250 physicians and associate providers with a primary care population base of 240,000. In addition to its main clinic/hospital in La Crosse, WI, where the position is based, we have 25-bed critical access hospital in Sparta, WI, and nine other clinics located in western WI, southern MN and northeastern IA within a 60-mile radius of La Crosse.

The Medical Center in La Crosse has 250 beds, Emergency & Urgent Care Center (Level III) staffed 24 hours by physicians, 24/7 Hospitalist Service, 16-bed combined medical-surgical ICU/CCU and cath lab. A Center for Advanced Medicine & Surgery (CAMS building) was completed in July 2004 and includes state-of-the art OR suites, Day Surgery Unit and a comprehensive Cancer Center with chemotherapy and radiation oncology.

Advanced fellowship training in Interventional Radiology VIR or IR/DR subspecialty certification or eligibility.

La Crosse, WI, is a city of 52,000 with a metro area of 120,000 in the Upper Mississippi River Valley, located between Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, and Madison, WI.
