Stable, eight-person group located about an hour from St. Louis is looking for a general radiologist to work on-site 26 weeks of Mon-Fri coverage noon-9 pm Mon-Fri for a very competitive salary plus malpractice coverage. The group needs someone to basically just read cases (a list reader), no mammo or procedures required; mainly MR, CT, US, plain films to keep the department caught up as volume at two of their two largest hospitals is steadily increasing.
A typical noon-9 pm shift is 100 cases with it being a good mix of all modalities. A good expected RVU# per weekday would be 65-75. They're offering $14,500 per week ($320/hour) as well as a free apartment to stay in Monday-Thursday and you're free to head home Friday night after that shift. There is also the potential option to do the position remotely, which would reduce the income to $265/hour. So, while it is a non-partnership position, it can be considered a long-term opportunity that they will pay a solid weekly rate for, plus malpractice coverage for basically 130-136 days of work annually. Someone Illinois licensed is preferred and the ideal fellowship for the position is body imaging, but any solid high-volume general radiologist with a good track record and the ability to obtain IL licensure will be considered. If someone could only offer 20-24 weeks but not their ideal 26, they are open to considering a pro-rated arrangement like that as well.
No mammo required unless desired. No requirement to relocate, so if someone lives within 3-7 hours of the southern part of Illinois this could be a good 1/2 time position offering a lot of time off. You're also free to work wherever in your off weeks provided you have separate malpractice coverage for it. They are looking for a radiologist that would like to be with them long term so this should definitely be considered a permanent position not requiring relocation. Radiologists from northern Illinois to Indy to western KY/TN, northeast Arkansas and most parts of Missouri and Iowa could easily make this drive weekly depending on the ability to be away from home for five days at a time every other week. Ideal start date is this summer/fall but they can wait for the right candidate.
