Radiology Associates of South Florida is actively recruiting for their Gulf Coast market due to growth. Physicians Regional Healthcare System’s two Naples hospitals provide quality care to the Naples and greater Southwest Florida community with the objective of offering more options and improved access to healthcare for all citizens and visitors.

We are currently seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to work in collaboration with a supervising physician in Naples, Florida. The candidate assists in providing procedure-based radiology services in a hospital practice setting, such services to include but not be limited to pre-procedure evaluation and preparation of patients undergoing interventional or other image guided radiologic procedures, evaluation of patients in consultation, inpatient hospital rounds, long-term patient follow-up and basic Interventional Radiology procedures. The candidate will represent the practice in interactions with hospital staff, referring clinicians, patients and the health care community in general.

This position is a Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, opportunity with the future prospect to participate in a call schedule. We offer a competitive base salary which can be enhanced by taking additional call with the practice, full complement of benefits to include health insurance and 401k.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary role is to be physician extender for minor interventional procedures (paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, drainages and other image-guided interventions).
  • Assist in the performance of direct patient care services, including inpatient consults and inpatient rounding.
  • Primarily hospital-based, a mix and in- & out-patients
  • Schedule patients for procedures including pre-authorizations, working with other facilities to coordinate procedures as needed, processing orders, sending reports back to referring doctors.
  • Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses and/or injuries.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies
  • Perform or assist procedures such as: paracentesis and thoracentesis.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes,
  • Perform history and physical examinations of radiology patients
  • Field phone calls from patients, referring physicians, nurses and other health care professionals regarding patients to identify potential areas of concern in the medical management of the patients
  • Educate patients on their medical care
  • Other duties as assigned

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate of a training program approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA) or American Nursing Association (ANA).
  • License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) as set forth by the State of Florida.
  • Board certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
