Outstanding breast imaging opportunity-Midwest Metro

Excellent opportunity for a breast imager looking to do a high percentage of mammography and related procedures. You can expect 70-80% breast working in two separate breast centers, one of which is affiliated with Siteman Cancer Center. They do need someone able to do a limited amount of general radiology consisting of five call weekends per year and occasional short evening shifts (2-3 hours), all of which can be taken from home via teleradiology. The group is 30+ in size covering four 150+ bed hospitals and several small outlying rural hospitals and their workflow is sub-specialized to a large degree. So, if you don't feel comfortable with particular body parts of MR or CT it can likely be routed to the appropriate sub-specialist for interpretation. Their main need is for a breast imager for during the week daytime and they can most likely work around any other general radiology limitations for the limited evenings and weekends.

A fellowship in breast imaging is not required for the position, but a candidate with vast experience in the field of mammography as well as the ability to do tomo, stereotactic breast biopsies, US, breast MRI, etc. is going to best suit the practice's current needs. Your workdays will consist of Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm working nearly exclusively in one of the two breast centers. Once in a blue moon, and in a pinch, you may have to go to an outlying hospital to do a breast needle localization and knock out an upper GI study while you're there before heading home, but that is rare and nearly all of your clinical daytime work will be at one of the two breast centers. Breast Imaging equipment is top notch: Mamm: Hologic Dimensions, Stereo Biopsy: Hologic Affirm- Prone & Upright. Mammography Reporting and Tracking Software Solutions: MagView Epic and Powerscribe used for dictation.

They are offering close to equal compensation from day one and full partnership after two years of service with the group with a nominal $25K buy-in. Equal vacation from the start as well, which is nine weeks. Their benefits package is extensive and adds another $130K on top of your W-2 income. It covers malpractice, incredibly good family health insurance, dental, optical, a generous CME allowance, a full 401K annual contribution as well as the group covering moving expenses. The group is very stable and as a core has been together for many decades. They all get along very well and they truly function as a team. They are looking for someone motivated, with a partnership mentaility that is looking to put down roots, help take possession of the practice's growing breast imaging load and hopefully have career plans to stay with them long term. Mammography is a large component of their practice and they have even set up a telemammography service for other, more general radiologists to be able to pitch in with screening during the day. Their PACS system is consistent amongst all locations and is M*Modal brand with mammography being read off of an M*Modal EPIC server.

Their ideal candidate would be able to start practicing with them in May, but they can wait until the summer for the right candidate. 2022 fellows are welcome to apply. Conversely, if a candidate is available sooner and can start soon after the beginning of the calendar year they have the breast work available and would welcome the early addition.
