About East Tennessee and the Knoxville area
Situated at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, Knoxville is at once both exciting and charming. It’s a Southeastern USA destination that can’t be defined by just one thing. It’s home to endless opportunities for outdoor adventure, rich history, and an arts and culture scene. Knoxville offers a small city feel with a large presence by the University of Tennessee, contributing to a wide and diverse culture and strong culinary community. Small enough to feel like a true community, but large enough to attract major entertainment and athletic events. Convenient location provides for easy access to larger cities such as Atlanta and Nashville, both within just a few hours drive. Extremely nice local airport provides convenient access to most locations with a variety of airline carriers. The area boasts numerous top-notch private and public schools with endless opportunities for family activities, and residents enjoy a true “Four Season” climate year-round.
