Emergency Radiologist in Grand Rapids, MI - Sign-on Bonus!
Subspecialty: Emergency Imaging

Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest 100% physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our practice includes 190 radiologists, 40 advanced practice providers, and more than 200 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.

What we do: ARS provides services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. We are the exclusive radiology provider to West Michigan’s largest Level I trauma center and research hospital, Spectrum Health. In 2022 we read 483,171 STAT cases for the Spectrum system and 779,650 for all of our other health care systems.

What we are looking for: We are seeking an Emergency Radiologist to join our section of 50 physicians! This position will be a combination of on-site shifts in Grand Rapids and remote shifts from home. We have both first and second shift positions available and have adjusted our on-site hospital shift hours to provide parity with work from home shifts in our schedule. The on-site hours are typically 7 to 3, 8 to 4 or 3 to 10. Our standard schedule positions work 39 weeks and 11 weekends and have 13 weeks’ vacation.

  • Interpret ER-centric US, CT, MR, NM and conventional radiography
  • Function well in the fast-paced, time-sensitive emergency setting
  • Provide exceptional service to referring physicians and patients

Why is our practice unique? We strive to offer the best of both worlds- private practice flexibility and compensation with academic options. In affiliation with Michigan State University College of Medicine, our radiologists have opportunities to teach and mentor residents and pursue research if desired. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled. We find that entrepreneurial minded physicians who value involvement in decision making and developing our business strategy fit well. Participation in section, committee and board meetings is not required but welcomed from day one.

Compensation/Benefits: We offer a significant recruitment incentive (sign on bonus), competitive compensation plan, stipends for on-site shifts, and opportunities for additional shifts on a month to month basis. Our physicians pay $0 for single or family medical/dental/vision coverage and enjoy an $18,000 medical reimbursement account annually. We also contribute the maximum amount allowed to the 401K plan ($69,000 in 2024). We offer 13 weeks of vacation for our standard track positions and we have a brand new 6-week paid parental leave benefit!

Why do you want to live here? Grand Rapids has earned numerous awards and is considered one of the most desirable places to live in the country! Ranked number 20 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 “Best Places to Live in the U.S.A,” Grand Rapids is Michigan’s second largest city and less than a 60 minute drive to Lake Michigan beach towns such as Holland, Grand Haven, and Saugatuck. Grand Rapids also offers a growing economy, award-winning schools and a craft brewery scene that is one of the best in the nation. Grand Rapids is proud of its traditional museums with substantial art collections, a Grammy-nominated symphony and Broadway Grand Rapids which brings productions to inspire audiences virtually every weekend. The city is home to a minor league baseball team, the “West Michigan Whitecaps” and the “Grand Rapids Griffins” AHL hockey team, both affiliates to professional teams in Detroit.
